Become familiar with GeoYukon

Here are the things you may want to master with GeoYukon before going any further. The best way is to explore and experiment.

  1. Go to GeoYukon. It may take several seconds to appear on your browser.
  2. Pan by clicking and dragging. Zoom using the scroll wheel on your mouse, using the + and - keys on your keyboard, or using or the zoom in [+] button and zoom out [-] button buttons on the GeoYukon screen. This is similar to the interactive maps in THEN projects.
  3. Zoom to your community of interest by clicking on the bookmark button bookmark button, which is under under the zoom-out button zoom-out [-] button on the GeoYukon screen.
  4. Select various basemaps using the basemap button basemap button in the bottom left-hand corner of the map. High-resolution satellite images around Whitehorse are nice.
  5. Explore the various options accessible with the I want to... button I want to.... Master the "Change visible map layers" options.
  6. Explore the various options in the advanced tools menu near the top of the screen. These are the File, Home, Download, Navigate, Find, Draw&Edit, and Analyze tabs.
